Goal

Profitable exchange and collaborative learning

After seven successful years, the event is evolving and will transform into MOUNTAIN SUMMIT in 2025 – a new, innovative platform for alpine tourism and the cable car industry.

MOUNTAIN SUMMIT focuses on providing forward-thinking insights and offers an ideal opportunity for intensive networking. Be part of this inspiring industry gathering, designed to meet the needs of both today and tomorrow!

Here, decision-makers, tourism professionals, and industry representatives come together to actively shape the future. Experience hands-on workshops and exciting presentations that go beyond the "industry horizon" and benefit from valuable exchange and learning.

What is it about?

The theme of MOUNTAIN SUMMIT 2025 is "Resonance of alpine tourism". The focus will be on the diverse interactions between guests, employees, leaders, and the specific demands of alpine tourism. The goal is to create a shared understanding of the needs of all involved and provide valuable insights into the future of the industry.

More details will be available soon in the program – stay tuned!

Who is it for?

Become part of the network! Decision-makers from the cable car industry and alpine tourism will come together – as participants, speakers, or exhibitors. Present your solutions and ideas as an exhibitor or benefit from direct exchange with leading figures in the industry.

How?

MOUNTAIN SUMMIT combines the strengths of a classic Barcamp with the benefits of traditional formats. Experience content relevance, tourism relevance, and practicality.

The event remains true to its core principle: learn from each other, collaboratively develop innovative solutions, and build valuable networks – for a sustainable industry.

When & Where?

MOUNTAIN SUMMIT will take place from Wednesday, September 17 to Friday, September 19, 2025. The event will be held in Oberstdorf. Secure your spot – we look forward to seeing you there!

09:00 – 11:00 Workshop: Open Data Platform for Ski Resorts

Ski resorts and winter destinations are taking control of their communication into their own hands with sovereign but open data.

The example of the missing lists and slopes on Google Maps has clearly shown how dependent ski resorts have become on platforms. One can hardly imagine what will happen when AI platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, etc., provide answers about ski resorts with current conditions, prices, opening hours, wait times, etc. – all based on today’s fragmented online data – and sprinkled with hallucinations.

The industry is particularly well-suited to join forces and, together with all existing technology providers, build a central data platform. The data is fed from all sides and made available as a normalized, structured master dataset to all platforms via API and for AI as an MCP or agent.

In this first workshop, we want to explore whether there are enough forward-thinking innovators in the industry who are willing to form an "Alliance of the Willing" to develop this initiative.
